The load test of diesel generator set is the most direct and objective basis to evaluate whether the generator set meets its specification size, power grade, and whether the installation of the generator set meets the requirements of normal operation.

Diesel generator set acceptance mainly needs to do the following four tests:

1. Test startup reliability and startup time

Remotely start the diesel generator set, record the time required from the start signal to the generator set to reach the rated voltage and frequency, and record. Several diesel generator sets can be sampled in the field, and a total of 100 startup times (negotiated by the user and the manufacturer) can be carried out to calculate the success rate of a startup and the longest, shortest and average startup time.

2. Sudden loading test

Start the diesel generator set to reach the rated voltage and frequency, add 100% load suddenly, the generator set can not stop.

After generator set is restored, unload to 0%. Then load 50%, record the instantaneous frequency drop and voltage drop amplitude; Then load to 75%, record the instantaneous frequency drop and voltage drop amplitude; Load to 100%, and record the instantaneous frequency drop and voltage drop.

3. Full load test

Run the diesel generator set to full load and run it at full load for 1 hour. Record engine exhaust temperature, cooling water temperature and generator temperature every 5 minutes and draw the measured values on the curve. These temperatures should be within the range permitted by the manufacturer as compared to the manufacturer's standards and the temperature trend does not move out of the range.

4. Parallel time test

Remotely start the diesel generator set system, record the time required from the start signal to the parallel connection of all the generator sets to the bus, and record. In the field can be accumulated 10-20 times, calculate the longest, shortest and average time needed from the start to all the generator set parallel.
